O-Pee-Chee Lake Lodge - Marten
River O-Pee-Chee Lake Lodge is the only resort on two beautiful
connected lakes. The fishing is excellent for walleye, northern pike,
smallmouth bass, cisco and perch. We offer both housekeeping and American plan
in clean and comfortable cottages. Enjoy delicious home cooked meals in our
dining room. Relax in our lounge with a game of pool, or cards or just sit
before the cozy fire. Kids will enjoy the playground & sandy beach. We also
offer fall bear hunts, moose & grouse. Nature lovers can explore miles of
hiking trails, birdwatchers can view the many species that inhabit the north,
and there are plenty of photo opportunities. Upon arrival, you will be provided
with a map of the lakes outlining some of the 'Hot Spots'. The cottages (log
cabins and modern cottages) are completely furnished and equipped, including
linens, cookware, dishes and utensils. Hot & cold running water Three piece

large log rustic building including dining room and lounge with fireplace, pool
table, TV, VCR and library. O-Pee-Chee Lake Lodge is located 40 miles
(64km) north of North Bay, one mile back in off Hwy #11 in Marten River,
Ontario. We are in Wildlife Management Unit #40, with a 24 square kilometer
bear management area surrounding two lakes. There are approximately 12 miles of
shoreline along which moose are often sighted. Trails off these 2 lakes lead to
some areas frequented by moose., or venture off on one of the logging roads in
the area accessible by vehicle. More remote territory can be reached if you
walk in or bring your ATV.
BLACK BEAR HUNT FEATURES The lodge is
located all by itself on O-Pee-Chee and O-Pee-Chee Boys Lakes. Many of the
baited stands are just a short walk in off these lakes; some are along the
trails used by the bears to get to the local dump. Our Bear Management area is
adjacent to a Crown Game Preserve. We have a bear sighting rate of 80%, which
makes your chance of getting a bear excellent. You will be situated at an
active stand, and the rest is up to you. ACCOMMODATIONS The main lodge is a
large log building featuring a rustic dining room and lounge with pool table,
fireplace TV and VCR, and reading materials. Let us know in the morning when
you come in from your hunt if you plan to relax in the lounge, and we will have
a roaring fire ready for you when you come in at night. Choose from either a
log or a frame cottage with hot and cold running water, showers, propane or
electric heat, fridge and stove. They are fully equipped with dishes, pots and
pans, cutlery, toasters, coffee makers, and bed linens are supplied. BLACK
BEAR HUNTING RATES BEAR HUNT PACKAGE INCLUDED: Cottage(s) to sleep one
person per bed, except couples Dinner on day of arrival, and two hearty,
home-cooked meals daily, breakfast on day of departure. Six full days of
hunting at baited stands, one man per stand Transportation to and from the

facilities available For non-resident hunters we will provide: The Black Bear
Hunting Licence Validation Certificate (Form 32), and provide you with a copy
of the Ministry of Natural Resources Hunting Regulations Transportation from
North Bay airport PRICE: $1,500.00 per person with meals or $1,200.00 per
person without meals, plus taxes. GENERAL INFORMATION You will be
required to purchase an Ontario Licence to hunt Black Bear, and will need a
valid hunting licence from your country, province or state in order to do this.

$300.00 deposit per person is required with all reservations. Balance of
